Probably the best way for you to get an appreciation of the benefits and advantages of using POSE is to hear it straight from the end users.

Andrew Malmo from the Auckland Festival was nice enough to say this:

“As discussed I’m not in a position to give a full appraisal of the POSE software as we have not yet run a festival on the software, however I can say that all dealings to date have been fantastic, with superb support from yourself. The initial learning curve for the software is short and the programme is easier to use and more intuitive than the software we were previously running. So far so good!”

Then I received this from him after the festival concluded:

Dear Tom,

Finally, I write to you to congratulate you on your POSE software and to offer my feedback on using the software during my time as Programme Manager at the Auckland Festival 2009.

I worked as Programme Manager for Auckland Festival 2009, starting in April 2008, and I oversaw the purchase and implementation of POSE into the Festival.

From my initial phone calls with you I could tell you were a person of integrity who would assist and go beyond the call of duty in regard to servicing your customers, and I felt very at ease with our discussions from the outset. Our meeting in Sydney (and fine lunch) simply cemented this view, hence the decision to buy the software on the spot.

Installation went smoothly, and support was always at hand. I took the learning from my hour with Sydney Festival and my time with you in Sydney and was able to get up and running at a basic level, however I did require a lot of assistance to get myself up-to-speed with data input and correct use of the program.

As the staff levels at the Festival increased, I trained the staff and found this to be very easy. Also the needs of the Festival kept getting more sophisticated, especially when the Artistic Director got involved as he has extensive previous experience of building a database from the ground up, and could find many things for me to meddle with to tailor the program for our specific needs, including some additions from Just For You, which you Implemented for us.

The biggest problems we had were:

-          Getting people off their excel spreadsheets and using the POSE reports

-          Too many people entering data in different ways – so there were issues around getting data out with all the necessary fields completed.

-          Too many opinions about what the software should do – from staff.

Thank you for all of your support to me during my learning curve progress. I found the support from Just for You Software to be second to none.

All the best for your future plans for POSE, I hope you get many many sales into Festivals around the world.

Kind regards,

Andrew Malmo

Here is a testimonial from Ian Marks at Sydney Festival:

“The software has given us the ability to plan a festival from conceptual stage through to delivery. Previously we could only plan for delivery.

“The biggest outcome POSE gives us is improved information communications across the organisation.   It is very much an enter once, use many times system.

“Staff can see the overall flow of the festival in a graphical way now, so they can identify things like potential clashes early on. Our production staff, for example, can get a feel for the festival much earlier than before and start work earlier.

“There is increasing pressure on performing arts companies to manage and assess risk, particularly from government funding agencies.

“Not only do you have to deliver high quality art, you have to have strong governance and corporate control. POSE enables us to have much better quality control over things earlier in the planning process. We can identify pitfalls in the early stages and avoid significant budget blow-outs at the other end.”
